The Bridge #2.4 | MORPHOSE

Like an asymmetrical formation, the apparent instrumental imbalance reveals other, more fragile and adventurous balances.

Damon Locks (electronics, vocals), Macie Stewart (violin, vocals), Morgane Carnet (tenor and baritone saxophones), Fanny Lasfargues (electroacoustic bass), Jozef Dumoulin (keyboards, electronics); five free spirits who had never played together before meeting in Chicago in April 2022, have come together around an imperative. The desire to explore a musical territory saturated with waves and shadows, hic et nunc, right here, right now.
And to do so with one of Chicago’s most renowned poets and visual artists, a musician in his spare time, and a violinist free of all constraints. And among the long new wave from France: a seismic, sinuous saxophonist, a rocky, irreverent bassist and a truly unpredictable keyboardist.

The art of improvisation in its loosest sense, like a map of the sensitive.

The Bridge works to maintain a connection between musicians and facilitate the passage from one continent to another. This has been followed by numerous collaborations between France and Chicago on unique tours and encounters. It’s an opportunity for artists to discover each other and take their time: the time to play, to exchange ideas, to meet and to improvise. We’re delighted to welcome this new project on Tuesday 1 October 2024!
