There are significant encounters in an artist’s life. The encounter between clown-vocalist Leïla Martial and travelling pianist Elie Dufour is one of those that opens up a whole new range of artistic possibilities. Drawn to each other like two magnets in many aspects of life, the two musicians are responding to an urgent need to create together. The project is intended as a laboratory of sound textures, melodies from elsewhere, a search for agreements and disagreements between timbres. It’s a journey through time, featuring old or invented instruments that have been taken out of their comfort zone by spatio-temporal effects, modes of play and their association with electronic instruments.
The aim is to surprise, to put the audience comfortably on cloud nine, and to offer them a musical spectacle of innovation, virtuosity and fantasy. A breeding ground for the unexpected.
