Leïla Martial & Elie Dufour

A duo is taking its first steps: vocal clown Leïla Martial and travelling pianist Elie Dufour (EYM Trio).

They set about finding their own temperament, their own path, and their own name. The final creation will take place next year, but they have decided to give us a first draft of their work, because ‘the music we love is revealed in the sharing and urgency of life’.

It’s time for exploration, a plunge into sound textures, melodies from elsewhere, agreements and disagreements between timbres; a journey through time featuring old or invented instruments taken out of their comfort zone by spatio-temporal effects, playing modes and their association with electronic instruments. These two inquisitive improvisers don’t hesitate to leap from one continent to another, from one era to another, with a single beat of their oscillators.

Carried along by a strong lyricism and emotional commitment, the duo involves the audience in a multi-timbral space where the usual notions of listening are lost.

Complexity and virtuosity are shattered by their childlike souls. The result is the birth of a new space, a cross between the scientific laboratory and the playground.
