Seksion Maloya

Seksion Maloya is the result of a meeting between maloya singer Loran Vélia and a team of musicians from the Parisian scene, with backgrounds in contemporary music, jazz and traditional music. Loran’s soft, powerful voice is matched by the choir’s rich polyphony, recounting love, pain and resilience in Reunionese Creole. Adding the beat of percussion, guitar riffs and the telluric lines of bass and electric bob, Seksion leads us into dance, from haunting lament to explosive trance.
