nit and dogs

France

nit and dogs is a magical group where the serenity of their compositions blends with the bewitching strangeness of their soundscapes. The spark for nit and dogs came when Rose Dehors and Lou Ferrand met at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, in the jazz department, where their shared passion for improvisation and experimenting with sound took root.

Rose, a sunny composer and musician, has come up with a project that pushes back the boundaries of perception, and with Lou, a true witch (approved by the federation), this magic takes shape. A performer with a magnetic voice, Lou screeches, whispers and shouts, infusing each track with her sorcery. The duo is joined by Raphaël Gautier, whose flying guitar and cursed pandeiro open up unexpected sonic horizons, and Paolo Rezze, who amplifies the mystery with his augmented cello, lego bass and synthesizers.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Björk, Saya Gray, Radiohead and Steve Reich, nit and dogs create a singular fusion of electrifying melodies and rhythms. The music is fuelled by improvisation and exhilarating vocal performances, underpinned by a powerful and surprising sound base.

On stage, nit and dogs offer a floating moment, a sensory journey where each sound, each rhythm, plunges the audience into a timeless space, both familiar and mysterious. It’s a musical experience that focuses attention on the strangeness of life, like an invitation to explore the world around us.
