Michaël Attias & Benoît Delbecq duo

Cosmopolitan in more ways than one, since his arrival in 1994, saxophonist Michaël Attias has multiplied his experiences at the crossroads of jazz, contemporary and improvised music in the bubbling New York scene. He met French pianist Benoit Delbecq in the late 1980s, but the two musicians rarely crossed paths on stage. However, we note the affinity that the two musicians share for frontier music. Like his saxophonist counterpart, the pianist weaves without fuss a singular and captivating work. Delbecq deploys a bewitching art, which reveals the dancing soul of jazz but allows himself to twist the melodies. His prepared piano will find a creative ally this evening in the possessed saxophone of Michaël Attias.
