Imperial Quartet

From an impossible journey to the musical depths of Louisiana, the Imperial Quartet returns with its renewed science of the soundtrack. This fourth luminous opus is entitled “All Indians” and it deepens the already sprawling groove of this extraordinary quartet. In hollow, this quadrature of scene asks the question of the creolization of the identities. Starting from this mythical land of the American South… to offer it to the universal of ears open to the four winds!

This new album is an odyssey. The Imperial Quartet doesn’t restrict itself to anything, and that’s how you can recognize it… These musicians-composers-improvisers plunge with generosity into a bubbling musical flow where the communities of Louisiana are bathed. They create their own current by mixing with African-American, Amerindian and Acadian energies…

Opening with a “Procession” that pays vibrant tribute to the many parades and parades of New Orleans, from the Jazz Funerals to the vital celebrations of the Second Lines, the movement continues with back and forth in popular music. The mixed essences of Afro-American and Cajun music, the incredible heritage of the Black Indians… One would like such an intense, rich and virtuoso creolization to fit into the huge jazz label, but that would surely be reductive.
