Brama

France

Brama is a psychedelic rock band formed at the end of 2019. It’s the result of a meeting between a hurdy-gurdy with a pedal and a guitar/drum duo in a state of hypnosis. If the first signal is electric, the irrepressible desire to create music around linguistic and poetic elements that surround us dominates. In this laboratory of the everyday, Brama takes on a solar and radiant folklore, where we always dance with strength, drawing with the strokes of a stormy poetry a polyphonic DIY with always pop colours.

After an EP, ‘La Glane’, recorded at breakneck speed live between two prestigious festivals (Les Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges, Les Bars en Trans, Le MaMa, Les Nuits de Fourvière, Les Vieilles Charrues, etc), the young band met up again in 2023 at the Shorebreaker studio (Zombie Zombie, Orchestre Tout Puissant, Lysistrata, Equipe de Foot, etc) under the guidance of Johannes Buff and Pierre Loustaunau, aka Petit Fantôme, to record their eponymous debut album. Psychedelic melodies, ceremonial grooves and flaying guitar riffs are all colours that nourish the stories told by Brama: ancestral ballads about the world’s disorder, psychedelic psalms and incantatory prose, the Occitan poetry of this record stands as a chimerical figure ready to fight against all odds. Oscillating between frenetic noise and bewitching pop, this first album is above all a post-modern act. In the turmoil of free trade, cultures waver but do not break, still blowing the breeze of a re-enchantment of the world.
