Eloïse Decazes

A true halogen singer, Eloïse Decazes has been haunting the ruins of French chanson for some years now, notably with the group Arlt. She has also been heard miniaturising Luciano Berio’s Folksongs with Delphine Dora and improvising hymns to the Titanic on cassette with Le Ton Mité. Her mysterious timbre, which is hard to distinguish from the cold, her deceptively serene articulation, and the way she disrupts durations by singing the shadow of notes rather than the notes themselves, are immediately recognisable.
