Le Grand Bal des Cousins

In June 2009, following a joint commission from the city of Valence and the department of the Drôme, Etienne Roche put together the first version of what was to become the Grand Bal des Cousins, with an eclectic repertoire of some thirty pieces to dance to, sprinkled with original compositions, musette standards and revisited choruses, brassy milongas, not forgetting certain ingredients that distil lasciviousness or hyperactivity with equal happiness. Almost 15 years later, the ball is still there, with a devilishly lively sound served by :
