Le Migou
France, Lyon
The Migou -remember- is the Yeti in Tintin, a mythical animal very characteristic of Hergé’s imaginary folklore. It is in this spirit that the Migou proposes to approach the blues and traditional American music in general. Bringing together two acoustic strings, two electric strings and two blowers, this heterodox sextet produces a kind of “chamber blues”, an atypical blues influenced by ‘modern’ music invented a century ago by Satie, Bartok, Debussy and Ravel, but above all a pictorial music that draws an imaginary road-movie through the American Deep South.
