Mélissa Acchiardi
Éole, breath of wind
Mélissa Acchiardi is a musician and composer. She plays vibraphone and drums, which she sometimes prepares with a synthesizer, banjo or sound objects of various kinds. She likes to make music that can be listened to, danced to, or that supports words or stories. She likes to play with lots of people or just a few, to compose and improvise, to tinker and practice, to break things down and apply herself. She likes to play in big places or small, outside or inside, sitting or standing.
In 2006, while finishing her classical percussion studies with Laurent Vieuble, Grégoire Gensse invited her to join The Very Big Experimental Toubifri Orchestra. After their first show Waiting in the toaster, this merry band met Loïc Lantoine in 2016 and released the double album “Nous”. Today, the group continues its “solo” repertoire with Dieux poulet, created in 2020.
During her training at CEFEDEM Rhône-Alpes in 2009, she met writer Samuel Gallet, with whom she collaborated for several years on a wide variety of theatrical projects.
Herr Geisha and The Boobs will be her first band on drums, and will release four albums on the Lyonnais label Dur et Doux from 2012 to 2015. She will also play in Grand sbam, Vaisseau monde, Nakishima and collaborate regularly with Collectif Eskandar.
