RELIEFS

In an interview, we introduced you to Joséphine Besançon, one of the two winners of tanDEM 2023/2024, our support program for young instrumentalists. On Wednesday July 10, we invite her to present her RELIEFS project.

RELIEFS is a young group made up of Joséphine Besançon (clarinet), Charles Paillet (guitar), Fanny Bouteiller (double bass) and Matheo Ciesla (drums).

Clarinettist Joséphine Besançon approaches music through a wide variety of repertoires. After studying clarinet and bass clarinet at the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse de Paris, she joined several chamber music ensembles. She is a member of the Ensemble Maja (a group of instrumentalists and singers) and the Ensemble Ecoute (specializing in contemporary music), and for several years of the Saxback Ensemble (a wind sextet). She collaborates regularly with various symphony orchestras (Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre Philharmonique Radio France, Orchestre National de Lyon, les Dissonances, la Symphonie de Poche…) and contemporary music ensembles (le Balcon, Ensemble Court-circuit, Ensemble Miroirs Etendus, Lemanic Modern ensemble). In 2022, she founded the Compagnie des Fantasques in Lyon, bringing together three instrumentalist-actors. Since 2021, she has been training in jazz at the ENM in Villeurbanne.
