Big Brave + MJ Guider

In collaboration with Bigoût Records

Big Brave are back on tour in Europe! On their way, they’ll be stopping off at Le Périscope to perform A Chaos Of Flowers, an album that follows on from their ferocious still life of 2023.

BIG|BRAVE’s music has been described as massive minimalism. Their fusillades of textural distortion and feedback emphasise the frayed edges of their music as much as its overall weight. The power of the trio’s work lies in their singular artistry, which combines elements of traditional folk techniques with a modern deconstruction of guitar music.

The lyrics explore the most vulnerable of human experiences, the way marginalisation manifests itself internally and externally, the inner struggles of isolation and co-existence in nature. A Chaos of Flowers is inspired by catharsis and beauty, as well as the quagmire of disorientation and alienation. The album is a monument of simultaneous serenity and anxiety, a subtle maelstrom of inner life.

Under the name MJ Guider, New Orleans-born Melissa Guion builds spacious, meditative dream pop songs with drum machines, bass guitar and mountains of echoes and other effects. His otherworldly, beatific compositions draw inspiration from his New Orleans surroundings as well as from science fiction.
