Essor et Chute (d’une révolution)

Every evening at 7pm during the festival, Les Préludes take over Le Périscope to celebrate the local and international scene with free concerts.

Following Essor et Chute (de notre civilisation), presented between 2022 and 2024, Pince-Oreilles collective member Romain Baret’s new project explores a new historical chapter with Essor et Chute (d’une révolution), a musical immersion in the heart of the French Revolution.

From 1780 to 1804, this hybrid creation, mixing modern jazz and rock, retraces the key moments of this pivotal period, between free improvisations and compositions inspired by artists such as Ari Hoenig and Tigran Hamasyan. From the poor harvests of 1780 to the birth of the Empire in 1804, the music recounts the major upheavals of the period, punctuated by short texts to contextualise the events.
Currently being created, this new musical narrative will be unveiled for the first time at the festival.
