Kokoko! from Kinshasa, featuring French producer Débruit, are back with their debut album, Fongola.
Kokoko! are clear and precise about their musical intentions: to blend their Congolese and global influences into a modern electric musical package, where urgency and uprising are in evidence at every turn. Signed to the independent British label Transgressive (Flume, SOPHIE, Lets Eat Grandma…), KOKOKO!’s distorted polyrhythm and spontaneous lo-fi sounds have rapidly helped establish the band’s unique musical style on the international scene.
The warm-up and after-concert mix will be provided by DJ âMy B. for a sun-drenched set of Brazilian sounds.
