PoulainJar + Ivan Martinez – Illuminar

This experimental duo from Auvergne, made up of musician Léa Monteix and percussionist Fabien Rimbaud, have been at home on underground stages, on theatre stages and in contemporary art venues for over 10 years. With their poetic field coming from an underground land teeming with musical inspirations, they offer a powerful experience where the texts are as many blows and caresses as the cello, drums, keyboards and other live and prepared radio-cassettes.

For Illuminar, they propose to take the encounter with creation even further.

With Ivan Martinez (Pascal Comelade’s guitarist, among others), they will be showcasing the scraps of PoulainJar’s abandoned compositions in a semi-improvised way. Forgotten rhythms, aborted songs, abandoned melodies and the silences between tracks will all be reworked on stage to create a solar, shattered and silent Illuminar.
